Bruce Edward Bolding

(October 19, 1947 - April 24, 2024)

Bruce Edward Bolding (October 19, 1947 - April 24, 2024) passed away in Camrose at the age of 76 surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Bruce was born to Chris and Mae Bolding in the small town of New Norway, Alberta. He was the fifth of eight children, growing up in a busy household filled with love and hard work by all.

On June 27, 1970, Bruce married his beloved Diane George, and they made their home in Sherwood Park for a few years before welcoming their son, Darren, into the world in August of 1975.

In 1984, Bruce, Diane, and Darren made the move to Diane’s family farm just south of Bittern Lake, where he spent the rest of his days. He found immense joy in hobby farm life and took great pleasure and pride in cultivating large gardens and keeping a beautiful yard of flowers with Diane.

Throughout most of his career, Bruce worked away as an electrician in offshore exploration in the Beaufort Sea and Alaska. His expertise and dedication later took him to various parts of the world, including the United States, South America, the Middle East, Australia, South Asia, and many other regions.

Bruce’s true passions in life included spending quality time with his family, tending to his garden, and enjoying the pursuits of hunting and fishing. He found joy and relaxation on the golf course, where he could unwind and connect with the sport and the people he loved.

Above all, Bruce cherished his role as a grandfather and took immense pride in his grandchildren. Their laughter and presence brought him immense happiness and fulfillment, enriching his life in countless ways.

Bruce Bolding’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and a deep-rooted connection to his family. His memory will be forever held dear by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Diane; his son Darren (Jolene); and his cherished grandchildren Kale, Kylar, Rya, and Kinley. He is also remembered by his siblings Jim (Connie) Bolding, Dede Bolding, Myrna (Bob) Nuss, Darlene Bolding, and Pat (Ross) Lee; as well as his sisters-in-law Endang Bolding and Shirley Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
